Each massage session at Emery Fit is customized to meet each client’s individual needs. Multiple massage techniques, including those listed below, may be incorporated into your session. If you are dealing with chronic or acute pain or injury, mobility issues, have just been released from Physical Therapy, or just need to relax, we can help!
Deep Tissue is a massage modality that utilizes slow, firm, elongating massage strokes to mobilize and relax the deeper layers of muscle tissue. Deep tissue massage can be beneficial to decrease muscle soreness and tension in muscle and connective tissue fibers and assist in injury healing.
Lymphatic drainage is an extremely gentle massage technique that encourages the movement of lymph fluid through the lymphatic system of the body. Lymph drainage is helpful for clients post-surgery who are experiencing fluid build-up.
Reflexology includes the application of pressure on specific areas of the feet and/or hands. These areas represent different organs and systems of the body. Reflexology is known to create tremendous relaxation to the body systemically.
Neuromuscular Therapy is a specialized form of clinical massage that incorporates manual therapy, compression, friction and various forms of stretching to minimize chronic pain patterns, diminish trigger point activity, decrease muscle spasm, and increase range of motion and muscular function.
Sessions may entail full body work or specific area treatments, depending on the client's need and soft tissue pain patterns. Additionally, we offer 30 minute Stretch Sessions for those experiencing connective tissue restrictions or generalized muscle tightness.
